Roy Martina – Where does Spiritual Marketing start?

Note from Shelagh: Roy has developed his marketing philosophy by marketing himself and his courses worldwide. So what he is saying here is grounded in that experience.

In my 30 years as a holistic medical doctor and dealing with the most complicated and so-called unsolvable cases, I learned step-by-step how to market both myself as well as the products I developed over the years to help people help themselves.

When most people say “marketing”, they think of what I call “outer marketing.” Outer marketing is everything you do in the three-dimensional world, such as advertisements, brochures, PR, etc.

But real marketing—spiritual marketing—is “inner marketing”. Inner marketing means being aligned with your product and being congruent in the belief that everyone—both you and your clients—deserves abundance. In this way, you can easily visualize and send out your “marketing” message into the Universe.

The secret of holistic success lies in the mastery of this art of inner marketing by understanding with clarity what need you are fulfilling for humanity, and how your service improves the quality of people. How can you develop that understanding?

It all begins with YOU.

Self-discovery is the first step of inner marketing, which means becoming one (congruent) with your message and product. To achieve this, it is necessary to create your vision and message from your heart not your head. Here are the practical steps:

  1. Know your values
  2. Know your unmet needs
  3. Invest in your personal growth
  4. Make integrity your guiding principle
  5. Speak your audience language and fine tune your message
  6. Create a platform and a following

At each one of the above steps, holding the true wellbeing of others at heart, ask yourself:

Actually, the best way of marketing is not marketing at all!

Rather, it is by providing a service to humankind and to build a community that loves your products, and whom you reward with good information and education so they keep growing. And these days, with the rise of social media, it is every increasingly important to let your audience (i.e., your past, current and potential clients) give you feedback and help you discover their needs and desires. As your community grows, identify people who would be good spokespersons for your products, who are willing to share their passion with your other clients. They need to be authentic and sincere. Then, watch you business grow.

Once your “outer marketing” and “inner marketing” are aligned and congruent, success will follow naturally, and abundance will flow both in your life and in the lives of your clients.

October 2011 – Roy talks to me about how he has come to embrace social marketing.

Well said, Roy! It is clear that “inner marketing” relates to more than just business. The same principles can be applied to all aspects of our lives.

You say, “Once your “outer marketing” and “inner marketing” are aligned and congruent, success will follow naturally, and abundance will flow both in your life and in the lives of your clients.”

    I say, “RIGHT ON! WOOHOO!”

And now, what if we took it a bit further? Yes, once you are aligned and clear and congruent, your success can follow naturally. But the one thing I see in my coaching clients' day-to-day business lives is that they succomb to fear. The result of which, of course, leads to not taking any action. Dreams, alignment, whatever, are useless without the final action steps.

My thinking is that once they learn a tool to get past fear and use the energy of it in creativity, they can then take action – take action – take action – the DOing part of inner marketing.

Thanks for a great explanation of how to get clear and aligned!

    Aloha -
    Angela

Roy, I love the idea you've articulated here – and of course now you've said it, it's so true :)

Fear cannot be overcome by willpower only, the subconscious mind is the place where u can really transform fear into power. There are tools that help people to reprogramme the subconscious mind to make it congruent with the conscious mind and there are tools that help people to reconnect to their core essence of love. Once the subconscious and conscious mind are aligned to the core of love or higher self, action becomes the natural consequence of being connected to the heart. This cannot occur with joy, ease and grace when you strive to take action from the mind only. Roy

  • Roymartina

Glad u like it Caron, it's all about congruence with our inner voice, Roy

Very true Edee when we are connected to our heart and we act from there, there is no difference between business and private life. Roy

These are some excellent thoughts and great insights, Dr. Martina! As the Good Book says, “Out of the heart, the mouth speaks.” Our words (including the words we use in our marketing) are a product of what is going on inside our heads. This is something I talk about and acknowledge in my work as a copywriter.

I read the comments below on fear, and why people don't act on the knowledge of what they learn in great articles like you've written. Overcoming fear and other spiritual hindrances is not simply done by thinking our way differently, although that is a positive step in the right direction.

Spiritual issues have spiritual solutions. Fear of what? Usually fear of failure or fear of what other's think are the two biggest issues people must overcome. We cannot fight a spiritual battle by “thinking” our way out of it. We must at some point, all of us come to the conclusion that we are not the Universe. We must come to a realization that there is a Higher Power which can alleviate fear. Indeed, when we stop thinking our way out of situations entirely, and let go, we can begin to get some relief from fear of outcomes.

I have heard it said, Let Go, and Let God. Or Do your best, and Let God Do the Rest. We can convince ourselves ourselves that we won't be fearful and reprogram our thinking and still be paralyzed by fear. That is because as humans, our minds are not necessarily spiritual, it is not something the human mind can grapple, it is something requiring faith, just like love or gravity. There is in all of us a measure of faith that we possess, and it there is just enough in every single person to consider that maybe we are not infallible, that we are not perfect, that we can't “think” our way out of every problem.

Simply put we cannot think our way into a new way of living. We must live our way into a new way of thinking. By surrendering, and letting go, and subordinating the outcome to a being greater than ourselves, we can overcome fear, indeed, it will have little or no impact upon us in a short period of time. It is something we must do moment by moment, so the fears don't creep back in, but it is a profoundly peaceful and serene existence to let go. I Tweet at http://twitter.com/ProNetworkB…
